How do I bid?

Step-By-Step Auction Guide

If you're a fan of Bargain Hunt and Flog It, you'll know that Auctions are a fun and generally profitable way to buy and sell your items.

Some people may feel a little intimidated by the thought of bidding - don't be!  All you have to do is register and then raise your hand when you hear a price you like.

Grove Mill Auctions is in its 10th year of business, the owners, however, have had many years experience and we all know how important it is to help our customers enjoy the auction experience!

Our complete service makes selling your items easy.  We offer a complete service including advice, valuation and collection if required.

Just bring your antiques and collectables on a Wednesday from 7.30am-3.30pm and we will enter them for the following Tuesday's sale. If you need advice on valuations, we are happy to help.

We'll give you a receipt and you can also protect your items with a reserve price (i.e. the minimum bid you are prepared to accept....subject to the auctioneer's advice).

We also post our catalogue and photographs of items and panoramic views of the saleroom on our website( in advance of the sale to give our buyers the chance to view and give your items the best chance of a good price.

Our fee is 17.5% of the hammer price (a very competitive rate) no VAT and when the item is successfully sold, we will have payment ready for collection after 7 days*(subject to monies received from the buyer)from the office.

Visit our website from Thursday evening onwards to view our online catalogue.  You can also view items in the saleroom Sunday & Monday 9.30am-2pm

Fill out the registration form at the office and we'll enter your details on our database.

For a one-off fee of a £1, we will supply you with a permanent number you can use every time you come.

Raise your hand and show your number to bid on your chosen item.  If you are unable to attend, you can leave an absent/commission bid with us and we will telephone you after the auction to let you know if you are successful.

Online bidding can be done here >>>>

You can visit the office to pay for your item at any time throughout the sale by cash/debit card/visa

Our Porters collect your items & check your invoice to ensure that all your items are collected. All sold items should be collected on the day of the sale, or later by arrangement.

We would ask that all successful commission bid items are collected & paid for by the following Monday to enable Vendor payments.

We also offer a delivery/collection service,  please ask about our charges.

Electrical items(unless otherwise stated) are sold as seen.. we do not check them or pat test them.

Any item damaged or broken during viewing must be paid for.
